The chief executive officer of Newmont Mining, labeled a potential takeover attempt by rival gold miner Barrick Gold Corp., as “nonsensical.” Following the news of a Barrick bid for Newmont, Gary Goldberg the CEO of Newmont said he was “shocked,” and “concerned.”
